missing the magic
We try and walk where we can to get around our small village, and this morning’s walk to school was no exception. It was cold, snowing, and the ground was slippery and white. And magical. The satisfying corn flour crunch of snow under your boots, the tickle of a snowflake on your cheek, the joy of a snowball launched into the air. The little things. The nature things. The awe and wonder things. As I walked home after school drop-off I got to thinking about the ‘magic’ that I so often miss because I’m distracted with the other ‘things’ that I feel I NEED to get done. I felt wisdom say; ‘let go of the needs.’ As we launch into school holiday mode, I’m going to seek a different balance. Yes, our realities do bring things that need to be done, but I’d love to be able to slow down once in a while to breathe in the little things, the nature things, the awe and wonder things and savor the magic!
(At least, I’m going to try!)
